The CS36 Merlin is a Canadian boat with a European style and modern lines. She has a two-cabin layout; a forward cabin (v-berth) and a double quarter cabin that closes with a door. She also has a useful stern swimming platform, superior build quality and she is a nice boat to sail. Very well equipped and prepared meticulously for a family return-trip from Quebec to the Bahamas in 2014-2015.

Length 36’, Beam 11,5’, Draft 5’ 4’’, Displacement 13 500 lbs, Lead Winged keel, built in Canada, Canadian Flag. Large cockpit and well protected descent. She is easy to steer and the helmsman place is well protected.

Sails and rigging
Triradial dacron laminate Main sail 2014 (2 reefs), 135 % Triradial dacron laminate Genoa 2013, 100 % Jib in very good conditions, North Sail Asymetric Spinnaker and Spinnaker Sleeve (as new), Harken furling gear, Lazy Bag 2014, Adjustable Back Stay, Releasable Baby Stay, Boom Brake, Most of the lines and blocks are new, 4 self-tailing winches (#43, #46), 48’’ Wheel steering, all Lines led aft to Cockpit, Rig Inspection in 2014.

Engine and electrical power
Volvo penta 2003 28 HP 3 cylender diesel engine in very good condition. Many new parts (2013 or 2014) : water pump, thermostat, primary diesel pump, proppeler shaft in aqualoyd, 4 motor mounts, flex coopling, most of water and diesel hoses, PSS dripless, soundproof engine compartement, reconditioned 2 blade propeller, line cutter, 130 l diesel tank cleaned by steam in 2014. New deep cycle batteries, 2 banks : four 6V batteries, one 12V battery. New generation charger (2013). Xantrex 1750 Inverter. 310 watt solar panel and second génération MPPT charger and Te-Meter screen controller (2014). 55 amp alternator. Self sufficient power generation boat.

Speed, depth, temperature and wind B&G sensors (2014), B&G IS40 / Triton displays (2014) (color screens, many choices of data can be displayed, e.g. speed or depth graphs). Standard horizon matrix GX 2100 VHF radio with AIS receptor (2014), Standard Horizon GPS Chart Plotter (displayed AIS targets) (2014). Onboard data available on computer or mobile (NMEA 183 and NMEA 2000 mixed network plugs on a DMK box spreading data by Bluetooth). Furuno Radar. Autohelm 4000 auto pilot. LED marine navigation lights (approved by USGC)

Closed forward cabin, shower and toilet, main saloon, galley, chart table and closed rear cabin. Ample storage and a full-sized, cedar-lined hanging locker. The heater system is an Espar D3LC diesel 13 000 BTU. Nova Kool fridge (2014) with freezer compartment. Three propane tanks. Dickinson BBQ. Force 10 3-burner propane stove. Carbon monoxide detector and LPG detector. Shower, water pressure, water heaters (electric and with the engine heating circuit). Electric pumps and emergency foot pump. Water storage in the tanks for 530 liters (1 month autonomy in the south !). Toilet and septic tank. Inside and cockpit LED lightening (3000 K soft white and red light for night vision). Two 12 volt fans. A cigarette lighter (for USB connection or other) in each cabin, two at the chart table and one in the kitchen. Electricity and plumbing overhauled in 2014.

New rudder (2014). Electric anchor windlass with remote, 3 anchors: one Rocna (one of the best) with 200’ chain, one Fortress with 50’ chain and 200’ line, one Delta. Dodger, bimini, full enclosure, screens (for full enclosure, hatches and portholes), sun cover for the cockpit. Ark and very solid davit supporting the solar panel and the dinghy. Teak cockpit table, cockpit cushions. Cradle on wheels allowing launching from a ramp. Interprotect done in 2014. Outdoor shower on the stern swimming platform and solar shower. Extinguisher, man overboard pole and several security elements (buoy , heaving line , flares, survival bag, etc.). Bunknet.
